Groupware components
Groupware components are software
packages centered on one (or just a few) utilities from the larger
groupware palette. Large and complex systems can be inefficient in
small organizations. If all you need is a scheduling system then a Web
Calendar may be enough. If a contact management (rolodex-like) software
is needed a specialized program can be choosen that does not contain
other components.
By implementing only the needed functionalities, the system is less
complex, easier to use, training is less expensive and less user errors
are likely to occur.
