Content Design
Content design focuses on easying the
user's access to the site's content. The main components of the content
design process are:
Information architecture -
building the logical structure of the website. The whole content of the
site is cathegorized, taxonomies are created, each piece of text or
image gets strict identifiers and the site map is created.
Navigation system - design of
the means to reach the content. Menus, link lists, search boxes and
other elements are added to the project. The navigation system is
directly related to the information architecture and very important for
an accesible site.
Content maintenance - The Web
content needs to be updated and most of the time it needs to be updated
frequently. Some parts will be updated more often that others. By
studying the information architecture and the software that powers the
web site update procedures are devised.
